Student Completing Application

Portuguese Americans For Higher Education donates a scholarship to worthy and qualifying students.

In addition to submitting a completed application form, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Portuguese descent
  2. Resident of Peabody, Salem, Danvers, Lynn or Beverly
  3. Accepted by an institution of higher learning

Students will be asked to submit the following:

  1. Completed application
  2. High school or college transcript
  3. Proof of Portuguese descent
  4. Copy of FASFA application

Although academic achievement is an important criterion, selection will be primarily based on financial need. The Selection Committee will also take into account the applicant’s ties and contributions to the community.

If necessary, the Selection Committee may conduct personal interviews with scholarship finalists and reserves the right to divide awards between two or more candidates.
